MBSi Team Spotlight: Mandy Stevens

This month we’re introducing you to one of our master client problem solvers, Product Manager Mandy Stevens, who joined our team in early 2024. With more than 10 years of experience in software development, Mandy is crucial to helping MBSi develop and bring innovative solutions to life. She loves working with clients to understand their needs and challenges, then partnering with our developers to build the products and solutions they need.

Q: Please describe your role at MBSi. What do you enjoy most?

A: As a product manager at MBSi, my role is to understand market and customer needs to help ensure our talented development teams are building the right tools at the right time. I work closely with clients and our internal teams to help shape future product features.

I most enjoy hearing directly from clients – hearing their needs and wishes directly validates that what I’m building now will make them successful in the future.

Q: What trends do you see shaping the industry in the future, and how is MBSi preparing for them?  

A: AI is the big buzz word in the tech space and across the world. Getting ahead of and involved in AI is critical for any SaaS company, so we’re focused on being proactive at MBSi in expanding our product suite with AI tools.

Q: What’s the best career advice you’ve received? The best advice you’ve given? 

A: The best advice I’ve received is that understanding your end user is critical. Building products with empathy and understanding for your end user is the key to success in all product development.  

The best advice I have given is the same – to always have empathy not only for your end-user, but your colleagues as well, and to approach all situations with an open mind and understanding of perspectives outside of your own.

Q: Where are you based? Where is your hometown?

A: I am based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but come from a military family. We moved all over the United States throughout my childhood!

Q: What are your interests outside of work?

A: I really enjoy cooking and baking. I’m always sharing photos of my creations with my colleagues on our Slack cooking channel! Outside of cooking, I’m a bit of a homebody – I like reading, going to the movies, and playing video games.

Q: What’s a fact about you that most people would find surprising?

A: I have a motorcycle license!
